We abide by all applicable
safety rules and take justified measures trying to eliminate potential hazards
in order to provide safe and healthy working environment for the employees. To
respond to various medical emergencies in time, we regularly check the
disposition situation of existing medical equipment and the first-aid kit on
offshore oil platforms, so as to continually improve our medical and first aid
level. The Company has also strengthened hygienic supervision and inspection
over food and drinking water in employee concentrated area. We strive to use
the medical resources close to operation units to achieve the transformation
from a treatment service to a disease preventative service, and we are
attempting to offer “family doctor” individualized service to employees.
We have been identifying the danger of occupational disease and conducting
regularly monitoring. We have already set up corresponding emergency response
plans at operation sites where occupational disease risk is greater. In
particular, we carry out occupational health check-ups for staff contacting
with toxic and harmful materials before, on and after duties.
To understand the health situation of the staff, especially offshore workers,
and to avoid outburst of deadly disease on operating sites, we have promoted
the practice of setting up electronic health files in the Company and our
subsidiaries to dynamically track their health situation.
The Company offers a general check-up for its staff once a year to allow
employees to be aware of their health condition. The Company also retains
experienced doctors to do analysis and report on the check-up results, and to
keep track of abnormal physical examinations.
Our care for staff health and safety has already been extended beyond the usual
8 working hours. The Company has specially formulated the CNOOC Ltd. Employee
Health Improvement Plan and adopted various measures to improve our staff’s
health situation and safety factor.
